Like an alchemist searching for the formula to make gold, Nicolas de Barry is among the master perfumers who have elevated perfume to the rank of a work of art. Housed in his castle near Blois, he stays busy rethinking forgotten scents.
Anxious to make perfume as it was done in the 18th century, Nicolas de Barry travels the world looking for natural raw materials such as agarwood, more commonly known as oud, rare and precious wood, blue lotus, ylang ylang, or even rose de Grasse.
Thanks to him, haute perfumery has regained its prestige and attracts enthusiasts eager to learn from the master.
