Tadine Scented Candle



Edward Foxhall of Camden discovered sandalwood on the Isle of Pines, New Caledonia, in 1840. Unknown in Europe before the end of the 19th century, the noble spicy wood had a proud pedigree: ‘candana’ in Sanskrit or ‘sandal’ in Arabic. A refined anointing for the body and hair, it warded off anguish and mingled, unspeakably, with all the Asian incense smoke.
